From occupied federal buildings to Ontario’s next developments
InAIR Environmental was founded in 1995 to manage and improve environmental quality, indoors and out. Our work ranges from proactive programs, such as asbestos management, indoor air monitoring and water management, to urgent response when something goes wrong.
For many years, much of that work has been in federal and institutional buildings, delivered through large facility management contracts. That is where we learned to document everything, protect occupants and workers, and deliver on schedule in live, security-sensitive environments.
Today we bring the same discipline to private-sector developers, builders, lenders and property managers across Ontario, from our Ottawa head office and our GTA office in Durham Region, with a full range of site assessment, soil, water and approvals services built around how development projects actually run.

The people who will work on your project
26+ years of combined experience in hazardous materials, abatement oversight and indoor air quality.
Connor Algie
Connor leads InAIR’s hazardous materials and indoor air quality work. He has completed designated substance surveys, asbestos and lead paint surveys, abatement oversight, mould investigations and LEED IAQ sampling in large federal office complexes, on a college campus and across multi-building residential portfolios, taking projects from site survey and sampling through reporting and on-site abatement oversight. He provides technical direction to field staff and reviews reports before they are issued. Connor is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario and holds a mechanical engineering degree from Carleton University.
Emily Cameron
Emily carries out building investigations for office, commercial, institutional and residential owners and managers: designated substance and hazardous materials surveys, asbestos and lead paint surveys, abatement oversight, mould investigation and remediation, potable water sampling and indoor air quality testing. Her work includes ongoing campus-wide hazardous materials support for a college, multi-building residential complexes, national museums and federal office buildings. Emily holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from McMaster University.
Magdalena Paradiuk
Magda has worked on a major federal building program and on water and indoor air quality testing projects. She previously sampled air at Environment and Climate Change Canada’s hazardous air pollutants lab and supported drinking water work at Ontario’s environment ministry. She holds a Master of Environmental Science from the University of Toronto.
Holly Nissen
Holly has supported a major federal building program and water and indoor air quality testing projects. She holds an Honours B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Ottawa, with field experience in site documentation and sampling, and works fluently in English and French.
Brandon MacInnis
Brandon supports InAIR’s field programs, bringing hands-on construction site experience from bridge construction and demolition projects. He holds a B.Sc. in Applied Climate Change and Adaptation from the University of Prince Edward Island and an Environmental Studies certificate from Algonquin College.

InAIR and Miriton: one coordinated team
InAIR shares its Ottawa office with Miriton Ltd., a mechanical and electrical engineering firm founded in 1997. Together we cover the environmental and engineering sides of a project, so developers, owners and lenders deal with one coordinated team instead of juggling separate consultants.
That means Phase I ESAs alongside building condition assessments, indoor air investigations alongside ventilation design, and designated substance surveys alongside renovation engineering, scheduled together and reported consistently.

Abhinav Syal
Abhinav began his career at global investment banks Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse and brings over 12 years of experience across institutional finance and M&A advisory, including more than 40 advisory engagements with construction, infrastructure and manufacturing companies. As founder of Rue du Monde, he has run businesses serving the construction and real estate markets and managed renovation and development projects from start to finish. He brings both a builder’s and an investor’s perspective to InAIR: disciplined costs, dependable schedules and a clear focus on what each project needs to succeed.
